Prayer And Sacraments

Prayer draws us to God, while the Sacraments are the ways God comes to us. This blog writes on these two themes with a special focus on their healing actions in our soul.

Devotion to Mary, the Lady of All Nations

In the book, "Our Blessed Mother: Mary in Catholic Tradition",
author Therese Johnson Borchard lists down eight notable Marian
apparitions with ecclesiastical approval. These eight apparitions
are:

  • Guadalupe, Mexico (1531)
  • Paris, France (Rue de Bac, 1830)
  • La Salette, France (1846)
  • Lourdes, France (1858)
  • Pontmaine, France (1871)
  • Fatima, Portugal (1917)
  • Beauraing, Belgium (1932-33)
  • Banneux, Belgium (1933)

There is also another Marian apparition (a private revelation to
a Dutch visionary, Ida Peerdeman, from 1945-1959), which in recent
years has obtained ecclesiastical permission for its promotion.
This is the devotion to Mary, the Lady of All Nations (the Mother
of All Peoples, the Mother of All Humanity). For more information
on this Marian devotion, you can check on the web site:
www.laudate.org

May 31 is the day in which Mary, the Lady of All Nations, is
honored and given reverence. This coming May 31, 2009, is also
the solemnity of Pentecost. There will be a 9-day novena in
honor of the Lady of All Nations, from Friday, May 22, 2009, to
Saturday, May 30. The novena prayers will be posted at the web
site, www.mariansolidarity.com, on those dates. Everyone is
invited to say the prayers (anywhere - no need to go to a specific
place, and you may also with to continue praying the novena even
beyond these 9 days).
